You may have been using Microsoft OneNote, but even if you are a seasoned user, there are several features that you may not be aware of. Let’s take a few minutes to go through some of the really cool features that may help you work smarter, and not harder.
OneNote has a New Look!
The interface for the newest downloadable version is a bit different from what you’re used to, but don’t worry, it’s all there! Microsoft has arranged it to look like the web interface applications that you might be using, such as Teams, Planner, and SharePoint. This style of interface has your menus open in “Blades”, which is just a fancy word for columns, usually on the left side of the screen.
Change Page Color and add Lines
Did you know that you don’t have to have boring white pages? You can customize pages to be different colors, or add lines of different types. You can even set it to open new pages with lines by default.
Automatic Sourcing in OneNote
You can copy text from a website, and when you paste it to OneNote, the source website will show as a hyperlink below the pasted text. This feature can be turned off.
Make Lists Using OneNote
You can make lists with checkboxes directly in OneNote.
Easily Share a OneNote page
OneNote allows you to directly share a page. You can choose whether the recipient can edit it or not.
Password Protect a Section in OneNote
Sections can be set with a password for added security.
