Microsoft developers are hard at work, coming up with new and exciting ways to make your job easier! Who doesn’t want easy? They are coming up with new ways to use Everyday AI (Artificial Intelligence) to intuitively complete tasks for you.
Linked Data Types
Excel for Microsoft 365 has a neat little feature that uses Everyday AI. It has the capability of filling in data for you without having to research. Specifically, data having to do with Stocks and Locations. Data types have been used in Excel for a long time, but linked data types that use the power of Bing search, Wikipedia, and more through AI to bring data right to you.
Location Data Types
Below I have two examples of tables created using linked data types. The first one starts with a list of several states, and then once converted to a location data type, data on those specific locations will automatically populate for you. Watch below:
Notice how once the data is changed to a location data type that you can see there is a “card” next to the name of the state. Clicking on that card will show you all of the data available for this state.
The Location data type is not just for states, you can try cities, countries, and more. Here is a quick screenshot of a table made using Location data types for Countries.
Stocks Data Type
There is a second type of linked data type available, stocks. You can make a quick and easy spreadsheet to track your stocks without having to search for every single stock. Watch below:
Notice that Excel uses everyday AI to retrieve data from Wikipedia, Bing, and more.
