Assessing your priorities

First off I want to thank everyone that took the time from their day to complete our survey and let us know how we can serve you better. Forms tells me that it took you an average of about 3 1/2 minutes which is great. I didn’t want it to be too onerous on you.

Let’s take a look at the results

First we can say that you’re generally happy with us. You gave us a 4.8 out of 5 in communication and a 4.9 out of 5 in technical skill. Thank you for that. We work really hard on training. We have formal training every week with all of our staff. And Ted and I constantly are in tune with how our communications with you are going. The only thing you faulted us on was staff turnover. It’s a function of the lack of skilled people in our economy and our high standards. We’re trying.

Overall your priorities are to make sure that your technology is headed in the right direction, that you’re safe from ransomware and your staff knows how to use everything that you’ve invested in. Your least concern is maintaining ownership over your data. I wish that one was a lot higher on your list because I think in this day there is a much higher risk than ever before.

We began implementing ransomware protections in 2013 and continue to evolve those as new variants crop up. It’s on on-going challenge and I’ve written recently about how we’re shifting away from anti-virus, into more proactive solutions and are in progress of implementing a slew of new settings for you. Technology direction is something that we take very seriously. Right now is the moment in which change is taking pace at an enormously rapid pace. We’re ready to help guide you.

Top concerns of small business

Forms, OneDrive and SharePoint topped the list of things that you’d like to learn about at our next Office 365 training day in December. We’ll make sure to feature them prominently on the schedule. However only 3/4’s of you knew that we held such a training in June. Not sure how that happened but we will work on it.

Office 365 applications small businesses want to know more about

3/4’s of you would sign your staff up for training emails. Expect this to go live soon. We’ll be verifying your permission to add your staff to the list. This will be an entirely different list that the one that you are reading now. They won’t get trends, news and announcements. It’s going to be pure training and alerts about avoiding infections.

The very most distressing result to me was the list of things that you don’t know that we offer. I anticipated this which is why I asked the question but still to see the results is somewhat painful. Perhaps you can relate to your own business. Every client doesn’t always know everything you do.

Vendor Management topped the list which was very surprising to us since asking us to interact with your vendors on your behalf is one of the most commonly assigned tasks you give to us. It does vary wildly between clients so maybe some of you don’t know that we speak Internet provider, copier company, telephone service, audio/video, security system, time clock, software developer, website and many other languages and can get issues resolved for you generally quickly than you could do it yourself. We have contacts at many of these companies too.

The other top items on the list, budgeting and ERP/LOB project generally fall under the category of consulting. We do a lot more than just fix stuff after the fact. Helping you plan hits you’re #1 goal above of making sure that your technology is headed in the right direction. Ted and Amy do most of the consulting and Parrish is also a good business consultant. It takes years of experience to get this right and Ted’ the junior at this with only 15 years behind him. We have the right people. You only need ask. We tend to shy away from pushing the full range of our services.

Again thank you for completing the survey. The insights are extremely valuable to us.
