Storagecraft, the backup solution company that we continue to trust more than any other, has released some new products that will capture data that might be missing from your backup today. These are Cloud to Cloud and Files (not located on a server).
The world has changed. No longer is your data sitting on a server in your office. You’ve also got data sitting in Salesforce, Office 365, Box or Google Apps. Then there’s the data sync’d from other cloud locations to laptops and tablets or even created on the laptop but not yet back in the office to be captured by the local backup. We also worry that syncing files locally opens up the possibility that if the machine got ransomware that encrypted it’s sync’d files that those encrypted files would sync into the cloud and overwrite your readable files.
Those are a lot of worries that we didn’t have just a few years ago. These are problems that Storagecraft has tackled.
Cloud to Cloud backup will make a copy of your data store in Office 365, Box, Salesforce or Google Apps and store the backup in Storagecrafts cloud. From there’s it’s a simple login to Storagcraft to restore the whole thing or just a file. This might also be handy if you are moving from one cloud solution into another.
File backup is an intelligent system that monitors your laptop for files that have changed. It doens’t matter where you save your file on the laptop, the application will know that the file contains data (as in it’s not a system or application file) and will send a copy into the cloud backup. It’s happens in the background anytime you’re connected to the internet.
