Alert: Problems with Windows 7 SP1

Last night I started to receive notices of many “dead bodies” as we call them in IT from around the world. That is, computers failing to boot after installing Windows 7 Service Pack 1.

This issue seems to be limited to computers whose files have been altered by some third party software. Hewlett Packard computers with pre-installed operating systems one of those. We are attempting to find other common threads that so we can alert you more specifically and plan for the service pack installation potential issues.

Meanwhile, we’d like to ask you do not install Windows 7 SP1 at this time. If your computer is prompting you to install it, please contact your technician.
