We’ve been recycling computer equipment for our customers since 2003. Back then we did it primarily for environmental reasons and it was only computers and it was a lot more difficult. Today’s reasons for recycling are about destroying the information that is contained on the device plus the environment reasons.
Why Recycle?
One of our clients recently came to the end of lease on a fax/copier/printer. It has a hard drive that it uses to store everything that you have faxed, copied or printed to it over the years. Does it have an sensitive information that should get out? It probably does. Everyone uses these machines to copy employee personnel records, fax banking information to vendors, print your CAD drawings, etc. So you’ve got to pay the recycling fee…$800! Or do you?
The theft is real. Information does have value and the bad guys will scan those drives for information that they can sell. Crazy I know, but true. So please recycle. We can do it very reasonably.
Here’s what we can recycle:
- All computer equipment, except those old CRT monitors.
- All server equipment
- Printers
- Audio/Video equipment and cameras
- Phones including Cellphones (and their batteries)
- Calculators
- Wires
- Battery backups
Here’s what we’re going to charge you:
- $45 destruction fee per hard drive
- $0 for the other stuff
- Half rate pickup fee if we have to make a special trip
- If you have more than what can fit in a car, then our recycler will come and pick it up (in bulk) at no charge. Call us to arrange
Recycling is good for the environment and it’s a safety issue for your business too. This is service that we offer exclusively to our contracted customers only.
