Artifician intelligence is coming to your business

IntelligenceWe have a lot to learn when it comes to allowing artificial intelligences (AI) into our lives. Take the simple example of my friend Amy Ewald, her Amazon echo and her 5 year old daughters obsession with candy corn. Her daughter learned accidentally how to order candy corn from Amazon by just saying the words Alexa, candy corn.  https://mommyhasamigraine.com/2017/10/13/stop-your-children-from-order-from-amazon-through-alexa-prevent-a-possible-migraine-in-the-meantime/ Ordering your AI to do something can be a great time saver but as these early devices are showing they can have unexpected consequences too. AI is coming to your business soon if it’s not there already. Amazon and Google are busy adding business friendly services to their AI devices. Nest now works with commercial heating/cooling units I hear. Commercial door locks and security systems can recognize your employees automatically as they approach the door and unlock it for them and turn up the lights. It can also turn down the lights in the areas when it knows all of your employees have checked out for the day. These are simple, simple tasks for AI. Sooner rather than later these robots are going to be able to complex jobs, like truck deliveries and more. In our work day we’ll interact with many different AI’s. That day is coming but as Alexa is showing us now training is essential; secure configuration is essential. Today it was announced that the WIFI security protocol WP2 has been broken and so there goes the WIFI data encryption and privacy that we’ve all enjoyed. The world is changing so rapidly and it’s going to be up to each and every employee and business to try to keep up.

I hope that wasn’t depressing. I hope is was exciting. The future is coming and it’s coming fast.
